How would the students from each Hogwarts House decorate their homes?

We all wondered what Harry Potter house we’d be placed in; we were invited to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Each wizard is assigned a house based on their personality traits. This means that they are surrounded by people who have similar interests, characteristics, and passions. The sorting Hat Quiz is based on your preferences. Which Hogwarts House do you most identify with?

Have you ever thought about how wizards of each house would decorate the homes they live in? You can stop wondering! The Skirting Board Shop has created four living rooms in the UK to celebrate the release of Fantastic Beasts – The Crimes of Grindelwald. The rooms are decorated in the style of Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. Slytherin and Ravenclaw have been designed as well.

Gryffindor

Gryffindor’s common room is located in the highest tower of Hogwarts. It is a comfortable and warm space for students to gather and study or celebrate. The walls of the Gryffindor common room are covered with framed portraits. We expect real Gryffindor houses to have similar family photos and paintings displayed, as well as some paintings.

Gryffindor’s interiors look best in country houses with lots of dark wood furniture, brown leather, and fur. To recreate this interior, you can use second-hand furniture. Chests of drawers, old chairs, and dark wood are all great ways to give your home some character.

Hufflepuff

Their homes would probably include geometrically patterned furnishings with intricate details. Hufflepuffs are known for their patience and hard work. Their homes would have a relaxed, zen atmosphere to reflect their patience.

They would have Scandinavian-inspired interiors with plenty of modern furniture and yellow and black as the house colors. Imagine bright, airy lofts in the city decorated with contemporary art and burnished copper.

Hufflepuff students represent the Earth element. We’d expect them to have a lot more foliage and plants around their homes as adults. Start small, take care of them, and grow them into beautiful indoor houseplants.

Slytherin

Slytherin’s common room has low ceilings and carved chairs, as well as scale-like tiles. We can imagine these features being used in homes outside Hogwarts. This type of decor would not be out of place in Victorian Gothic homes: sleek, dark spaces accented with the house colors of silver and emerald, lit by tall candles, and finished off with dark, mahogany skirting boards.

Slytherin students tend to be ambitious, intelligent, cunning, influential leaders and achievement-oriented. As they are confident and proud, they will decorate their homes with focal points that attract the eye. The Slytherins are not a rule-following group, so they would display artwork that was beautiful but also mysterious.

Ravenclaw

Ravenclaw houses would be decorated in deep, dreamy blues and have lots of windows. This interior style is perfect for period Georgian houses with their delicate furniture, high ceilings, and white-primed arches.

The Ravenclaw Common Room is large and circular, and it’s located in one of Hogwarts’ grand towers. The arched windows and silks on the walls showcase the house’s colors. Ravenclaw houses will have these features when students graduate from Hogwarts.

Ravenclaws have a reputation for being creative, and we imagine Ravenclaw homes with clean, white walls decorated with abstract, marbled artwork in modern, funky frames. Mirrors in bronze and gold frames would be used, as would feathered cushions on chairs and couches to represent Ravenclaw’s house mascot.
